Brian McDermott spoke following our loss in the opening game of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.
He was largely positive on how we played and praised Tonga for their committed defensive display.
With a number of debuts in the side on the day, Brian picked them out for their impressive performances, in particular Zach Eckersley who didn't let an early mistake get to him and put in a classy performance.
The Structure and format of the World Cup this year means that we now need some results to go our way, but Brian is positive, and believes there's every chance we can get through to the Semi-Finals.
Games against France and Papa New Guinea are to follow in the coming weeks, and those are must win if we're to progress.
